Do NOT preheat your oven.
Place bacon in a single layer on a sheet pan.
Transfer to the center rack of your oven.
Turn the oven on to 400 F. Set your timer for 20 minutes.
As soon as the bacon is golden - it is done. (Do not overcook bacon as this produces carcinogens).
line a plate or a pan with papaer towels and transfer cooked bacon to the paper towels.
Strain the bacon grease and reserve for another use.
