Preheat oven to 350 F. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
In a medium skillet that has a lid, add oil and heat over medium-high heat.
When oil is shimmering, add chicken breasts, seasoned side down into pan. Cook 3 minutes on each side. Turn heat to low.
Add garlic cloves and stir to heat through. Pour in the tomatoes, olives and capers.
Transfer pan to oven and cook until chicken is no longer pink in the center and juices run clear (about 25 minutes).
Remove and transfer to serving dish. Top with olives and serve.
